Our Program, Our Passion

Prairie Hockey Academy (PHA) is where life champions are developed. As Saskatchewan’s first Hockey Canada Accredited School, PHA has created an experience that fosters growth and development in young student-athletes who will become tomorrow’s leaders.

Our Spring program is no exception, we have been running our spring program for over a decade out of Caronport, SK. We are heavily focused on fun and skill development with non-parent coaches. The Spring Program is focused on our four L's (Love, Learn, Laugh, Lead) and focused upon on and off ice growth and development.

At Prairie Hockey Academy we don’t focus on talent, we focus on developed skill. Through developed skill, our student-athletes are better able to understand the importance of having a growth mindset and are better equipped to accept failure as a step forward rather than a step backward.

On-ice development

We practice two times in one day over the weekend and attend 2 to 3 tournaments (depending on the year). Our Spring season runs for 6 or more weeks, and we get 8 hours of on-ice practice run by our coaches who are committed to our vision, mission, and core values of Prairie Hockey Academy.

HUMBLESTRONG CLASS

Coaches run a leadership class in-between the two practice times developed by HumbleStrong, our leadership coaches for the academy. These class sessions are the heart of the program and the on-ice and off-ice development. It focuses on three core pillars.

1. Character is a skill

2. Learning is slow and requires failures and mistakes.

3. Growth is intentional

Opportunity

Every year we are looking for players who will be selected based on their skills, character, integrity, potential, work ethic, and commitment. We want our athletes to be committed to teamwork and personal growth, be a loyal team member; to be coachable, competitive, passionate, and honourable with families that are respectful towards other players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and referees, and opponents.

We are committed to making our spring program an exceptional experience and help our student-athletes on their journey to become Life Champions.
